Here's my Roll of Honour to say thanks to
all the kind folk who risk life and limb to bring in sugars from all over the
world, THANKS GUYS !!
Tip- Never feel guilty about taking a sugar packet or cube home - you've paid for it after all.
Remember you don't need a notepad or an anorak for this pastime, you can do it alone or with friends,
and it's real cheap - just the cost of a tea or coffee.
Tip- Once you get proficient you won't even have to buy a drink every time.
Companies have caught on to the fact that advertising on sugar packets
reaches huge captive audiences in Hotels, Bars, Restaurants, Planes, Ships & Trains
worldwide, anywhere where hot drinks are served.
Tip- Even if you don't take sugar start collecting now, your collection might well turn out to be your personal hedge against inflation.
By enlisting friends & family as collecting agents you could be at the head of a thriving MLM network in no time at all with everyone having just as much fun as you are.
Tip- Asking friends & family to collect on your behalf is not cheating - it's just good planning.
Tip- [submitted by Christopher Chiasson] Take more than one packet in case a family member or roommate accidentally thinks the packets are for consumption, don't store your collection anywhere near the kitchen!
Tip- [submitted by Christopher Chiasson] Keep organized, excellent suggestions are coin or card collector books, go through your collection now and then to weed out the doubles.
Tip- [submitted by Christopher Chiasson] Sugar packet collecting should be lots of fun! (Christopher approved when I told him that my collection is ornamental and lives in wicker baskets [packets & cubes] and Quality Street sweet bottles [tubes]
It's well known (Amongst us collectors) that waiters/waitresses undergo intensive training in how to spot the would-be sugar collector. Don't let this put you off, plan each raid, and remember - avoiding detection enhances collection.
Tip- Why not train as a waiter/waitress before starting your collection, there's no law against insider collecting.
...and if you're really serious about collecting sugar packets it's well worth a visit to
