Degree Shows

photography exhibit from 1985 degree show There has been an exhibition of finalists work in the building since 1969. The school took the first full intake of new students in the September 1969, but occupation of the building started earlier in the year.

The 1969 exhibition appears to be the first formal event held in the building and exhibited student work from 4 disciplines, Ceramics, Graphic Design, Painting and Sculpture. The Polytechnic was not formed at the time and Wolverhampton College of Art was credited as the organiser of the first exhibition showing work from Dip A D students.

The degree show offers many students their first opportunity to exhibit a body of work to industry, contemporaries and family. In June 2009 there will be over 300 students exhibiting at the degree show. The majority will be from BA(hons) but there are also Foundation Degree and HND students showing. Over the years it is estimated that there have been more than 8,000 exhibitors.
